Briefing
Art is Motion bridges art and technology in this unique product prototype for Lexus. The brief was to install an on-board system that generates art in real-time based on how the car is being driven to highlight the efficiency and character of the Lexus IS300h hybrid car.
Solution
BLISS worked with generative artist Sergio Albiac to integrate with the car and to install additional sensors that measure current speed, RPM and whether or not the car is driving hybrid. Using that data, a real-time portrait of art collector Walter Vanhaerents was generated by changing the characteristics of the brush strokes and colors.
A web platform was developed where the portraits and how the portraits were painted could be viewed. To do this, we established a live connection with the equipment installed in the car and extracted the necessary data.
