On some days, processing the loss of your child is especially hard work.
A birthday. A special occasion. Or simply a memory that resurfaces.
On a day like that, going to work just isn’t possible.
But it’s not a vacation day either.
If we start calling such a day a “grief day”, colleagues, friends, and employers will immediately understand that it’s not about taking time off for leisure—
It’s a day for mourning.
A day that every parent who has lost a child should have the right to take.
To help bring this message to life, we supported OVK-SAVE in developing a clear and accessible website, as well as creating impactful film content designed to be shared with policymakers, employers, and other stakeholders. This content was crafted specifically to support the wider societal conversation around recognition, compassion, and the need for structural change in how we support grieving parents.
In this way, communication — both in image and story — plays a vital role in opening the door to lasting impact.
